Why Having High Thyroid Levels And Low Hemoglobin And How To Correct It?

I've just had a blood test, my doctor said I have abnormal thyroid (high) and low hemoglobin, but couldn't give any comment as to what she thinks it might be... Was wondering if there is anything I should be doing to help? Postnatal, headaches and sore throat lately

Hello and welcome at HCM!
As far as i can understand, you have a baby but you didn't mentioned when was the delivery? It would be very important to make the diagnoses of hyperthyroidism, because during the first 6 months there may be a transitory postpartum hyperthyroidisim that doesn't need to be treated. In general it lasts 2-3 months and than is followed by hypothyroidism. Post partum thyroiditis is a common pathology in females and it is very important to diagnose and follow it properly.
About the anemia, i would recommend you some further examinations, (sideremia, ferritinemia) to see your iron status, you may have lost too much blood during the delivery or if you are lactating the normal diet is not sufficient to provide iron for both of you :).
Hope i was somewhat useful with my advices.
Best regards,
Dr.Guni
