Why Has Supraclavicular Lymph Node Enlarged After Taking TB Therapy To Treat Submandibular Lymph Node Enlargement?

hi
in august 2012 my sub mandible lymph node got enlarged. i got FNAC for that lymph node. I was diagnosed with tuberculosis. But my X-ray was clear. Still, i was given anti TB therapy for 6 months. in 6 months that lymph node disappeared. After month of stopping anti TB therapy my supra clavicle lymph node got enlarged. I was worried and then i got biopsy of that node. From biopsy AFB culture was performed. But AFB did not grow. I was advised watch and wait. Now after one year my supra clavicle node got enlarged.
What should i do?

Thank you for consulting with Healthcare Magic

I'm sorry to hear about the dilemma you are facing.

Tuberculosis(TB) can affect lymph nodes only. Without any abnormality in Xray. six months therapy with antibiotics is enough to cure TB completely.

Enlargement of supraclavicular node should be taken seriously. I would advice you to get yourself examined by a General Surgeon to confirm it is a supraclacicular node. Further physical examination only can reveal the proper reason for the enlargement.

As you have already cultured and ruled out a relapse of TB further investigations like FNAC, CT Scan etc may be required according to your treating surgeon.

Thank you. Please revert with further details and queries.
