Why Does Pregnancy Stage Not Tally With Missed Period?

Hi, I discover that I was pregnant the 27th of december, I went ot my doctor last Friday, I was supposed to be 6 weeks pregnant since my last period had started the 28 of November. He offered me to do an early vaginal scan since I had two previous miscarriage. When he did the scan, he dated the pregnancy to be around 4 weeks. He told me not to worry, but I am very regular (28 days) and I don t understand how I can be two week less pregnant then I am supposed to be.

Hi, thanks for writing..
i understand your concern..
There is something called late conception even when your periods are regular.. Get a repeat scan after 2 week to see for growth and cardiac activity. if it increases by 2 weeks , then you have a healthy pregnancy. Your expected date will change accordingly.. Hope I have answered your doubts.. good day
