General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

The probable causes can be one of the following:
* Regrowth of a small part of left behind tonsil as this lymphoid tissue can regrow
* Papilloma
* Cancer
I would advise you the following:
* Consult an ENT Surgeon as he is the only one well experienced for this area to tell you the proper diagnosis
* Biopsy if something is suspected to have like cancer
* MRI study to know the depth and extent of the lump
* The treatment will be as per the diagnosis thus made

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. T. Chandrakant, General Surgeon
