Why Do My Knees Feel Hot On Touch?

I am 51, weight 125 lbs, and have the first sypmtoms of Rheumatoid Arthritis, mostly in the heels of my feet. The last couple of days, my knees are not to the touch. I can feel the heat radiating from them but I have no pain, redness or swelling. My hot knees occur several times of the day and last for an hour or so, sometimes longer. Is this more RA symptoms? What is my body (knees) telling me?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms seem to be related to rheumatoid arthritis. I suggest using anti inflammatory medications such as Acetaminophen to relieve the symptoms. I also suggest using cold compresses for local application. I recommend exercises and regular physical therapy. You should follow up with a rheumatologist for further evaluation.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
