Started period yesterday as normal, but started bleeding extremely heavily, with very large clots, and a dull heaviness in my pelvic region. I am soaking thru 4 overnight pads an hour, and every time I stand up its like a flood! What is going on with me???

Hello,
Your symptoms more indicating towards menorrhagia, a condition in which there heavy or prolonged menstrual periods. Most commonly this occurs due to stress related disorders or blood coagulation related conditions, but in your case it is associated with pelvic heaviness so may occur due to pelvic inflammatory disease, endometriosis or adenomyosis. this condition may lead to anaemia, fatigue and infertility also. so, go and consult a gynaecologist for more evaluation, who will recommend you some investigations like CBC of blood, pap test, pelvic USG, and sometimes laproscopy. take tab ibuprofen 200mg tds, tab. tranexamic acid, haematinic and according to cause and history your doctor may recommend D&C, hysteroscopy or even hysterectomy.
ok bye and take care.
