Why Are My Periods Missing?

i have been on nuvaring for little over a year my periods have been normal until a couple months ago it went from 3-4 days to 1 day spotting this month i was supposed to start last monday but didn't i took a pregnancy test came back negative is it normal to stop having periods on nuvaring?
