Why Are Birth Control Pills Prescribed For PCOD When I Want To Conceive?
Hi, I am 26 years old and I am planning to have a baby, but I have been diagnosed with PCOD. So my doctor has prescribed me Crisanta and Glycomet tablet for my treatment for 6 months and when checked on google I got to know that Crisanta is a birth control pill. Why has the doctor prescribed me a birth control pill if i want to concieve?

Hi,
PCOD is a problem of ovulation failure. It is observed that oral contraceptive pills taken for few month cycles can stimulate ovulation in following months and can cause successful conception. Hence, to give contraceptive form a first line of treatment for patients of PCOD. Please follow your doctor's advice.
