Why Are Monocef And Amikacin Prescribed For An Infant?

Hi doctor my 1 year old baby had got loose stools from last 1 week he was admitted for 3 days now they have stopped but doc told tat he needs to injected monocef 250 mg and amikacin for 2 more days just asking is it necessary and wat is the use of it and if not given will it affect my kids health again. I am giving him z and d 1 ml,ad 10 2 times and bifilac 2.5 ml please do advice on all the medication

I really appreciate your concern, diarrhea is almost self limiting in this age group and hydration is matter of concern only, antibiotic works only when it is indicated else giving antibiotic may some time lengthen the course of disease, get done the stool culture sensitivity test that will show whether this is bacterial infection or not, hope this information helps, take care.
