Why Are CVD Tests Done For An Alcohol Addict?

hi my partner had blood tests yesterday and was told to expect the results in 5 days, this morning we got a phone call from the doctor to say he needs to come in for a routine cvd test that was nothing to do with his blood tests, this does seem a bit coincidental am i worrying for nothing or have they found something in is blood test's? he is a heavy drinker although only beer. thankyou, joanne

cannot say in his particular case. AND alcohol use changes ekg's, blood work, and if he gets bruised it will make the muscle elevations elevated (as will a heart attack). And beer is a lot of calories and will likely elevate cholesterol and triglycerides.
There's a few potential interactions; they don't actually have serious consequences in this case but make the tests look funny.

That doesn't mean that alcohol use isn't potentially serious. (liver and nerve damage, even heart damage sometimes). Just it doesn't generally present like this situation.
