Why An Alzheimer Patient Unable To Empty The Bladder During Morning But Empties Them During Sleep?

My wife has been diagnosed with Alzheimer's several years ago and was taking Ditropan and her family practice doc gave her Myrbetriq and she has been on this new medication for about 3 months and now she doesn't or can't empty her bladder during the waking hours. After going to bed at night she seems to have gallons of urine passed at night. She will pass enough urine to soak 2-3 adult diapers during her sleep time.
If I would give her the medication at bedtime instead of in the morning, would this help her empty void when I place her on the toilet during her waking hours. I probably have her on the toilet 3 to 4 hours during the daytime.
I need more advice. Thank you Bob

Hi
You could try shifting the dose of the drug to the night time but might not help as the Myrbetriq woks for 24 hours. It works in an entirely different fashion to the ditropan. Hence you might want to ask your doctor to consider changing over to ditropan or consider one of the newer drugs like solifenacin or trospium xl
