Why Am I Having Missing Periods After Protected Sex?

i am 18 years old, height 5'6, weight 59 kg and i had protected sex just 5 days before my periods. but after that i didn't get my periods on my date. i also checked through the home check pregnancy test kit twice and the result was negative.... now its been a month i have still not got my periods. is there any reason for this ??

Thanks for writing to HCM

Period may be normally delayed in some ladies.
It may be delayed even in those ladies who have normal periods.
But you should confirm your pregnancy also,though chances are less as you had sex before 5 days of expected period.But this period is also not 100 % safe.

You should repeat UPT.It may be false negative in early days of pregnancy due to less HCG level.
However USG of pelvis is the investigation of choice for confirmation of pregnancy.
