Why Am I Bleeding Post Menses After Colposcopy?

I had a colposcopy done with biopsy on 30th August 2014. I was not bleeding initially but I have been doing so since my period came on 4th September 2014. I noticed my period finished but the bleeding continued. the bleeding after my period finished was at first watery but it now looks the same like my period. What should I do? I read I can take primolut to control this but I don t want to do so without proper advice

Hello,
Thanks for sharing your health concern with us. Bleeding can be more than the usual after any procedure on the pelvic organs and this is the most likely reason for your prolonged bleeding/spotting in the current scenario. You can use styptics to arrest the bleeding and if there is no relief, need to use a progestogens course after proper clinical evaluation. Please do not douche or use strong soap solutions. Do not use tampons. Use mild antiseptic solutions to clean the genital region. The watery discharge is often issued from the healing cervix. Hope this helps.
