Hello my father is on colostomy bag after emergency surgery from air in his stomach he has an enlarged prostrate as well he originally started this whole hospital deal with a fall. ..he fractured his pelvic what happens with separation of colon made him toxic.. colostomy bag can be removed by surgeon if rest of unction in colon become normal it is to be decided by surgeon. there should not be malignancy or ulcerative colitis
