Hi,

Metronidazole and Diloxanide furoate are commonly prescribed in the treatment of gastroenteritis caused by amoeba. No harmful effects are reported following their use during pregnancy. So, these drugs are considered to be safe during second as well as third trimester of pregnancy.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
