Which Robitussin Product Is The Best For Thinning Up Phlegm To Take In The Daytime?
I need to know which Robitussin product is the best for thinning up phlegm to take in the daytime? I have been taking Robitussin DM, but I was told that maybe the plain Guafenasin would be better to use in the daytime to help me cough up the phlegm and take the DM at Night?
Hello Guaifenesin is used as mucus thinning but its dose is every 4 hours , similarly the dose of dextromethorphan is also 4 hourly ( however both these products are advised to use 6-8 hourly ) . The main question is , why phlegm ( expectoration ) is there . In my opinion allergy , bronchitis , bronchiectasis ,lung abscess are the most common causes of phlegm . Smoking is the another reason of expectoration . In my opinion consult a PULMONOLOGIST and get his opinion . Good luck.
