When Will The Nexplanon Implant Start To Have Effect?
I got Nexplanon implant inserted in my arm on day 2 of my period a few weeks after having an abortion i had unprotected sex 5 days later and he ejaculated inside me. how soon will nexplanon implant be effective for me? im worrying alot about this even though iv read it becomes effective imediatly?

According to your history the possibility of pregnancy is less in your case. As you have got Nexplanon implant on the second day of your menstrual cycle, you can expect protection for throughout the month from the day of implantation. Because usually in case of regular 28 to 30 day menstrual cycle ovulation is expected between 13th to 18th.
As the implant was inserted during the menstrual period itself, so by the time ovulation occurs, it will stabilize the reproductive hormonal levels and also will affect the uterine endometrium, so that it can prevent the pregnancy.
As manufacturers claim around 99% of success rate to the nexplanon, the possibility of pregnancy is less.
As sometimes irregular menstrual periods are possible with hormonal contraceptive pills, if you miss your expected date of periods, please go for a urine pregnancy test to rule out the possibility.
