When Will Menstruation Resume After Discontinuing Yaz Mid-cycle?
I stopped the yaz pill mid cycle and had a couple of days bleeding, I now don t know if I should expect my period counting from the withdrawal bleed or from my last normal period. I was only on yaz for 3 months, my partner and I do want a baby. If I am counting from my last regular period, I would now be late... I had a negative pregnancy test 1 week ago despite (withdrawal) bleeding a few days earlier because I ve read so many stories that I m completely confused now... I know this will sound crazy but if I was pregnant, I would ve conceived while on the pill... It sounds completely unlikely but if I could just work out where my cycle is at, I can work it out :)

While taking Yaz pills (a hormonal contraceptive). You were not likely to conceive. You had stopped taking the pill in between. This has caused a sudden withdrawal bleeding and the cycle under Yaz control was broken. The body no more gets the hormones through pills, nor it has normal hormonal harmony of menstrual hormones in body. So a sudden hormonal imbalance occurs and menstrual cycle is disturbed for a while .That is why your period is delayed now.
This disturbed period gets back to normal within 15 to 45 days (depending on your previous menstrual pattern). This sudden withdrawal mostly starts rebound ovulation with very good chances of conception (provided there was no previous menstrual problem / the existing menstrual problem was corrected by the pills). In short please wait for normal menses to start within 15 to 45 days and you can expect conception on coming 3 months. In case menses do not start within 45 days. You have to get investigated to find spontaneous pregnancy / to find cause of menstrual delay and get specific management.
