When Should One Take Misoprostol After Taking Mifepristone?

Hi doctor, I have a 3 yrs kid and now im pregnant (39 days ie 5 weeks n 4 days), for now v wish to abort this pregnancy so I consulted dr thru phone and she suggested to take mifepristone & misoprostol kit.. today mrng at 10am I took this mifepristone tablet in an empty stomach. now when I shud take the other 4 tablets vaginally, kindly pls suggest me the timing when I shud take

Hi & Welcome to HCM.

Since you are taking these medications under the supervision of a qualified doctor. These drugs will be useful only if the pregnancy is intrauterine so make sure that the pregnancy is within the uterine cavity.

The kit consists of one large tablet Mifepristone to be taken at once and then after 48 hours of that take the rest of the 4 tablets of Misoprostol orally or vaginally.

After taking full kit, abortion occurs anytime between 6 hours to 5 days.
But in few patients there can be an incomplete abortion or excessive vaginal bleeding and in that case you have to visit a gynecologist.

In case if bleeding does not start in next 72 hrs then you would have to repeat an ultrasound pelvis.
