When Should A Pregnancy Test Be Taken After Delay In Period?

I have a regular 28 day cycle. I am now one day late and I ve had a migraine for two days, i have cramping ( it was more severe last week ) breasts are slightly tender but nothing too critical, i am exhausted and am getting more sluggish as the days go on. I took a pregnancy test today, not first response or clear blue, and it showed up negative. Is it possible to be pregnant and have received a false negative? When should i test?

Thank you for the question and thank you for visiting our site.

The earliest that a urine pregnancy test will confidently indicate whether you are pregnant or not is about two weeks after conception. The window for conception is probably the better part of a week, so it is possible that you are testing too early and that this is a false-negative test. Regardless whether you start your period, check another pregnancy test when it has been a full three weeks since the last episode of unprotected intercourse in order to be confident about the test result.

I hope that this helps and good luck!
