What To Do If Having Hole In The Roof Of The Mouth, Nose Cartillage Disappearing After Snorting Medication?

My husband has snorted medicine for quite awhile now. He has nose problems-cartilage is disappearing, stays sore and he is now talking through his nose. This weekend a whole came in the roof of his mouth, back toward the soft, fatty portion. It is about the size of an eraser. What should we do?

ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hello

Welcome in H.C.M.

I have gone through your query regarding loss of nasal cartilage and development of a hole in the soft palate.

As you said that your husband is taking medicines for quite long, so one may think of side effect of drug but I am suspecting as your husband is most likely having -

1- Leprosy.

2- Atrophic rhinitis.

Here I would like to suggest you to please consult your ENT doctor for thorough examination and do necessary investigations to pin point the diagnosis which may be accordingly treated.

Regards.
