What To Do If Having Dull Ache In The Hip Radiating To Knee While Managing Backpain?

Hello, I am a 53yr old active woman and have recently developed a dull pain in the outside of my hip which wakes me at night, and sometimes radiates down my thigh to my knee, this feels like a nerve pain. sometimes acute pain can be triggered by moving my leg outwards and to the side. I do have back issues stemming from an old nursing injury many years ago and I manage this through stretching and exercise.

Any advise? Thank you.

Thanks for query.back pain radiating to hip and knee is probably sciatica.exercises to stretch are good remedy.for severe pain I would generally prescribe gabapentin or pregabalin.have a note that sciatica needs to be evaluated for disc prolapse if it persists for more than 6 weeks even after treatment.regards
