Hi,thank you for posting your query on health care magic.

You are suffering from pharyngitis(inflammation of throat) with lymph node enlargement in neck.

White spots on your throat can be due to following reasons along with bacterial Streptococcal infection.

Candidiasis-White spots on throat, a burning sensation in the mouth, and difficulty swallowing are common symptoms associated with this disease caused by the yeast infection. This infection can be treated with an antifungal prescription

Infectious Mononucleosis- it is viral infection, mononucleosis is not treated with any medication and infected individuals are told to let it run its course with supportive treatment.

It would be advisable to have a test- throat swab for culture and antibiotic sensitivity to find out whether it is a bacterial infection and if yes, then which antibiotic is sensitive,Throat swab for fungal stain to rule out fungal infection,Mono-spot test to rule out infectious mononucleosis, after consulting Otolaryngologist Doctor.

There is also a possibility that only Zithromax(Antibiotic Azithromycin) may not be effective and you may need another higher antibiotic if it is a bacterial infection.

You may also get relief by taking Analgesic and Anti-inflammatory(like Ibuprofen),Antacid(like Rantac),Antihistaminic (like Cetrizine) ,Cough expectorant(like Ambroxol) and Anti-pyretic (like Paracetamol) if there is fever.

Also do warm saline gargles.Hot tea with honey, lemon and ginger will also help you.Drink warm turmeric milk.Avoid cold, spicy and oily foods.Drink lots of fluids(warm).

Hope this answers your query.Get well soon.
