Hello!

Welcome on HCM!

I carefully read your question and would explain that her symptoms seem to be related to a lung disfunction. Coronary artery disease can not be excluded either, considering the fact that she is a diabetic.

Coming to this point, I would recommend consulting with her attending doctor for a careful physical check up and some tests:

- a resting ECG
- a chest X ray study and respiratory function tests
- a cardiac stress tests

You should discuss with her doctor on the above issues.

Hope you will find this answer helpful!

Best wishes, Dr. Aida
