hi,, i am 25 years old having hyperthyrodism since 5 years and taking neomercazole to control my codition. i and my partner are planning to have a baby. what precautions should i take before and after conceiving. i am also worried that it may not cause any problem to my fertility.

Hi there,
Welcome to HCM,

You need to get your thyroid levels checked before you plan to conceive.
It would be best if the TSH levels are normal and if you can discontinue the neomercazole before you conceive.

The hyperthyroidism does not affect your long term fertility so you need not worry about that. But control of thyroid prior to conception is recommended.
