What Kind Of Diet Should I Follow After Going Through My Lipid Profile Analysis?

Hi I am 44 yr old.



Ht 158 cms. weight - 53 kgs. I have a healthy diet comprising of fresh fruits & veg and weekly non veg. excercise regularly:



My Lipid profile recently is:



S. Cholestrol 218 mg/dl

S. Triglycerides 72 mg/dl

HDL 33 mg/dl

LDL 171 mg/dl

VLDL 14 mg/dl

LDL/HDL Ratio 5.2

Cholestrol/HDL Ratio 6.6

Thanks for writing to HCM

You are suffering from dyslipidemia.Cholesterol is towards upper range and LDL is increased.
You also need few more investigations like routine hemogram,RBS(Random blood sugar),LFT,RFT,Ultrasound of abdomen.Further investigations can be done if needed.
You need life style modification and diet changes.
You should avoid high fat food like red meat,high fat milk products.
Cook food in olive or canola oil.
You should take limited salt in diet.Avoid fried and junk food.You should avoid alcohol and smoking if you take these things.
Take lot of fruits and vegetables.You should also increase your physical activity in the form of walking and exercise.
You can also do meditation and yoga.It will help him a lot.

You can take hypolipidemic drugs like Atorvastatin 10 mg at night after dinner.
Get well soon.
