What Is This Small Pale Spot On The Arm That Looks Like A Unhealed Wound ?

A while back, I noticed a small pale spot on my arm (keep in mind I'm Hispanic & have tan skin). I didn't pay much attention to it until one day I applied lotion & felt the spot indent. Now it kind of looks like a unhealed wound, only with a thin layer of skin over it. It does not hurt or secrete anything. What is this?

Hi,
I can understand your concern for the small pale spot on the arm that looks like a unhealed wound.
After reading your history I can make out the possibility of simple lichenificaiton of the area. It appears as flaking and small spotty area of skin. It is due to mild thickening of the skin which leads to kind of spot which you have described.

Do not pinch, pop or scratch the area. Keep the area dry and wear cotton clothes. Change the clothes two time a day. Do not get exposed to extremes of environment and protect yourself from heat and humidity.

I suggest you to apply bland moisturizing cream for 4-5 time sto keep it moisturized. Take antihistamine such as loratadine or cetrizine if itching is present. Do not apply any mixed cream or mixed ointments as it causes further aggravation of the problem.

Take care.
