What Is The Use Of Hucog Injection?

My wife age 36. Last time abortion in January 14 due to featus died during 7th month. Now she is again pregnant. Last MC date 05-10-2014. Our doctor prescribed HUCOG 5000 iu injection every week. Can anyone clear me why this injection prescribed. Thanks.

Welcome to HCM. i can understand your concerns for your wife and baby. As per your details, i would like to tell you that because your wife had a history of abortion, your doctor has rightly prescribed HCG injections.
HCG is a hormone, which maintains the pregnancy and if its levels are low during 1st trimester specially, there are more chances of abortion, so its very useful to take injections regularly specially during 1st 3 months. You will also need to take susten tablet, which contains progesteron and it also helps to maintain pregnancy.
So you must take HCG injections regularly and i would also suggest you to take susten tablets mainly during 1st trimester, which will lower chances of abortion. You also need to take few precautions like avoid sexual intercourse, avoid heavy weight lifting, take folic acid tablets, take health diet, have sufficient sleep and rest, etc.
