What Is The Treatment For Varicose Vein And Open Wound On Foot?
My husband has bad vericose veins for years and no insurance so we cannot continue his treatment. He has one open wound on his foot that is not healing but not infected. Today it looks completely raw and I am worried about it. He also has bad swelling in the same lower leg because of fluid retention. What is the best way to treat this wound?
He is probably suffering from Chronic Venous insufficiency leading to Venous ulceration in the leg. You should advise him to keep his leg elevated at all times above the level of his heart. He should wear Compression stockings till atleast above his knee and you can start him on Tab Daflon twice a day and Tab Ecosprin 75mg at night after dinner. Ideally, he should get a Color Doppler of his venous system done and you should get a Four-layer bandage applied which will heal his ulcer faster. Take care and feel free to ask again.
