What Is The Treatment For Thyroid?

Hi I am having thyroid kind of symptoms like weight gain, joint pains, neck pain etc. I am from Bangalore, Whilefield. I dont know I need to consult which doctor (like physcician etc) and which is the best hospital for that.. Can you please guide me? Thank you!

Hello. Thanks for your question. The best way to evaluate your thyroid function is through a blood test that a general practitioner can order, which includes thyroxine levels and TSH levels. While weight can be caused by low thyroid levels, also with poor diet and lack of exercise, joint and neck pains are usually caused by something else, not related to thyroid levels. However, if you are feeling unwell, a blood test would be a good place to start, with a general internal medicine doctor. You do not necessarily need to go to a hospital; you can find a local clinic.
