What Is The Treatment For Severe Abdominal Pain?

im 18 years old and have a sharp pain in my right abdomen, just in from my hip bone. it started a week ago and seems to be getting worse . the only time when the pain isnt that bad is when im lying down flat , also have been vomiting quite a lot what could this be ?

Hi.
Thanks for your specific query, although you would have provided information about associated fever, bowel habit change any urinary complaints.

The commonest cause can definitely be appendicitis or typhlitis ( inflammation of the caecal part of colon on right side where the small intestine and appendix are connected).

I would advise you the following:
Get a check-up done by a Surgeon,
*Routine blood investigations like Complete blood picture, blood sugar, urea, creatinine, liver function tests, thyroid function tests.
*Urine -routine and microscopy
*Stool: routine, microscopy, occult blood, culture and sensitivity.
*Ultrasonography of abdomen,
*Colonoscopy if the medical treatment fails to relieve you.

Get the surgery done if it is appendicitis.
