Hi, I have gone through your question and understand your concerns. HbsAg positivity indicates that you are infected with hepatitis B virus, however it needs to be evaluated whether it is a acute, chronic or chronic active infection. Several tests like anti HBe and anti HBc antibodies need to be evaluated. If it is a acute infection, you need to be treated as an inpatient, if chronic infection then you need to get your viral load done and further management accordingly.
In all the conditions, the baby needs to be vaccinated with hepatitis B immunoglobulin and hepatitis B vaccine immediately after birth.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
Wishing you good health.
