What Is The Treatment For Alcohol Addiction?

To be brutally honest, doctor, I am an addict. I take straight morphine, and consume alcohol too. Now, I'm ashamed of myself, and want to stop. Can you suggest something? Please don't tell me to tell myself not to take 'em, because it never works. I'm worried about myself, and too embarrassed to share it with my family or friends.

Psychiatrist 's  Response
Thanks for your query, In my opinion, you need to tell yourself at least ten reasons (more if you are able to figure out, there are many) and write them down on a piece of paper and put that in front of you and repeat them to yourself every day as many times as you can. Don't remain with people who take any substance. remain occupied with some work or with your family. And last but not the least consult a psychiatrist, who can be of immense help during the withdrawal phase and to keep your motivation high
