Hello Sukhdev Singh,

Yes, she can use the lubricating eye drops safely until and unless she develops side effects from its preservatives ( such as redness or irritation of eyes). Try to find the underlying cause of dry eyes. Look out for causes for reduced blinking as can occur with long hours of reading or writing ( computers/laptop/reading books), long hours in AC rooms, associated acne or scalp dandruff and so on. Treating the underlying problem can help.

For very severe dry eyes, punctal plugs are given ( surgical) temporarily for 2 weeks and the last resort is to permanently block the puncta. However these are reserved for very severe cases only.
