Hello,

If your baby has been diagnosed with profound hearing loss, its time to head for implant to have the baby grow normally without feeling deaf.

It is adviasble to do it to your place nearby with enough facility for post surgical care of child, implant and a good speech therapist. Because surgery alone won't suffice or its not just that you did surgery and everthing will be fine.

As you are tecnical person you must have searched or googled enough for implant surgery, please go ahead with surgery if baby is a candidate for surgery. Rest will be explaind by the surgeon who is going to operate.

The cost of surgery at present is around 2-3 lakhs and implant will cost around 5-10 lakhs according to different varieies and brands.

Post surgery there are expenses for speech therapy and maintainance and occasionly some procedure to rectify anything with implanted hearing aids.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
