What Is The Solution For The Child Having Red, Swollen Tonsils?

my child s tonsils are very swollen and red i have tried, to use warm salt water as well as warm and cool liquid, he also has had a fever that he took children s medicine for. the fever is gone but his tonsils are still red and swollen, how am i supposed to stop his tonsils from swelling.

I am sorry your child is not feeling well. Swollen tonsils are typically due to either viral or bacterial (ie:strep), infections. Viral infections will usually resolve on their own in 7-10 days. Bacterial infections like strep require antibiotics. The fact that the fever has gone makes me thing this is the viral type. However, it would be recommended to consult your doctor in case this does turn out to be strep.
