What Is The Slimy Discharge With Cramps During Pregnancy?

I am currently 38 weeks pregnant and this morning whem I woke up I had a large amount of clear but very slimy discharge (not something that has happened in the past). I was wandering what this might be? I have been having cramping on and off for the last week.

Yes as u have completed 37 weeks of pregnancy now due to descent and fixing of head in the pelvis there will be dilatation of the cervix ( lower opening of the womb) the mucus plug at the cervix will come out due to dilatation of cervix... The fixing of head in the last month of pregnancy will also press upon the pelvic nerves which supply to the back and thigh...so leg cramps are common near term
