Hi, Noted the history and understood the concerns. Since the pilonidal cyst has opened up not this is a pilonidal sinus. Sinus will be recurrent unless the tract is completely healed which can occur rarely. Hence you should be ready to see how the sinus progresses and if this becomes recurrent then you obviously need an excisional surgery. There are many ways this surgery is done. Please consult your General Surgeon to get a proper diagnosis and further management. Recovery time thus can not be said at the moment as nothing is certain about outcome in any sinus disorder.
