What Is The Recovery Time For Blurred Vision After Having Photosensitive Eye During Flu?

I recently had the flu. During the flu I had a lot of photo sensitivity with my eyes, along with pain in the eyes and the surrounding muscles around the eye. During that time I took Advil which alleviated the pain and allowed me to use my eye. When I went to urgent care because of developing other problems associated with the flu, that appeared to be a good treatment. The problem now is that I am pretty much over the flu. Except for some residual soreness in the eye and surrounding muscles, I now have blurred vision. This has continued for almost three days now beyond the other symptoms, The environment around me appears foggy. I have tried warm compresses and eye drops. Nothing helps. Am I in danger of having this be a permanent condition? what are my chances of recovery with time? What can I do to relieve the condition now? When should I be concerned about medical intervention?

Hello
It seems from the history that you had a flu following which you had photo sensitivity and now you are having blurring of vision. This indicates probably you had a viral flu and you had viral keratoconjunctivitis because of which you had photo sensitivity.
Viral keratoconjunctivitis will cause multiple corneal opacities and the treatment is by use of antibiotics to prevent secondary infection and low potent steroids.
The condition will take 3-6 months to resolve. Hence with treatment your condition will definitely improve but it will take some time.

Hence I advice you to consult your doctor for examination and treatment accordingly.

Thank you
