What Is The Reason For Spasm Below Belly Button After Umbilical Hernia Operation?

I am a male and I am two and half weeks post op from a small umbilical hernia (no Mesh) I had my follow up last week and only concern is scar tissue. Today I have a spasm three to four inches below my belly button all day and frequent urination. No other signs of infection at the belly button (the site of the surgery).

Hi, If the spasm you describe is associated with frequency of urine, it does not seem to be concerned with the scar tissue.
Post operative catheterization may be the cause. There are chances of irritation /infection of bladder causing this problem.
Drink plenty of water, take alkaline mixtures. Irritation will resolve within 2-3 days. but in case that is associated with burning in urine, you will need antibiotic course along with alkaline mixture. Please consult your doctor for prescription of antibiotic.
Thanks.
