hi im a 23 year old female. i have had polycystic ovarian syndrome and i recently took a blood test in which my esr was 37...i was wondering what that meant... all my other blood test results were normal except for MCH which was elevated. also my hormone test results were normal. i want to know what this means??
From the tests reports you have described, you are probably having Vitamin B12 and/or folate deficiency. What is you Hemoglobin level ? I would suggest you to check you Vitamin B12 and Folate levels. This explains the high MCH.
High ESR on its own does not mean anything significant unless it is in the range of 100s. However, in your cause anemia could have led to high ESR.
Finally, something else I tell my patients, don't worry too much about blood reports, let the doctor worry about reports. As long as you are physically and mentally fine, reports don't mean anything.
