What Is The Reason For Change In Power In Keratoconic Eye?

Hello, In a Keratoconic eye, the spherical power has increased in the last 6 months 0.5 D from 1.25 to 1.75 while the cylindrical has decreased from 3.75 to 1.85. What could be the explaination? is the spherical changes only due to change in axial lenght or is there other reasons?

Hello,
It seems from the history that you are having keratoconus with refractive power of 1.75 D which has increased over six months period from 0.5 D.
The reason for change in the refractive power is because of change in the curvature of the cornea and not because of change in the axial length.
Hence your condition requires close follow up and treatment accordingly.

Thank you
