What Is The Purpose Of This Medication?
Hello Doctor....
I am Ajit, 27 years old. I am short tempered, often get angry, loud in my day today life. Even for small matters I usually get over reacted with anxiety, anger and sometime I even become violent. Though I realize it latter that there was no need of mine being so aggressive and I could have handelled the situation softly. I went to see a Psychiatry. He said its normal. At my age that much anger is normal. According to him whenever I became over reacted violent I had valid reason. Still at the end he prescribed me VALPROL-CR-200 twice a day for two week. And ask me to visit him after two week. Now I want to know for what purpose and in which disease this medicine is prescribed? And what are the SIDE EFFECTS of this medicine? And should I take this medicine or not? Please Help.....

If this anger is since childhood, then it may be part of your personality. In that case, psychiatrists use mood stabilizer like valprol. It would help to control mood swings. It has few side effects like hair loss, liver dysfunction, tremor, gastritis etc. You can take this drug and should try at least for six weeks.
