Hi Fatima, I have read your query and have understood your confusion.
Letrozole is a medicine which stimulates the ovaries to mature and release the eggs.
Now you have started monitoring your egg maturation and release by
ultrasonography. Usually the egg gets released when the size of the egg follicle is more that 18 mm. So continue your scan. When the egg follicle becomes 18 mm size, please start having intercourse. Though the life of the egg is 24 hours, the sperms can live up to 72 hours. So you may have intercourse even on alternate days if daily is not possible. You will be informed when the egg has been released (doctors in their medical language say 'the follicle has ruptured'). That will be the important day. Try to utilise that day for conception.
After that, there is no compulsion to stop the physical relations. It is up to physical needs of both of you.
If you miss the period, please do not hurry to get the urine
pregnancy test and/or ultrasonography done for diagnosis of pregnancy. These tests become reliably positive after 8-10 days of missed period. Otherwise you can get
beta hCG tests done which give reliable results even after 2-3 days of missed period.
You have mentioned that you had two miscarriages. These abortions happened at which stage of pregnancy? Accordingly you will have to undergo investigations to find out the cause of abortions and then treat the cause (if treatable) accordingly. You may have to undergo blood examination, chorionic villus
biopsy and/or amniotomy (study of the water around the foetus). Also serial ultrasonography will give some clues of the cause for abortion.
Wish you a good luck for healthy prompt pregnancy.
