What Is The Prickly Sensation In My Both Hands?

Hello Doctor, I need to ask you some thing related to pricky sensations in my both hands. I delivered a baby a month ago and now sometimes in a day I feel this pricky sensations in my both hands. Could you please assist me what could be the reason and what shoule I do?

Hi,

Prickly sensation of both hands can occur due to dryness, allergy or inflammation of skin. Any history of rashes should be ruled out. Diabetes can also cause generalised pricking, itching or burning sensation. Kindly check your blood sugar levels both fasting and postprandial levels. I would suggest you take antihistamines for 3 to 5 days. Apply generous amount of moisturiser to reduce any discomfort. Mild steroids like hydrocortisone can also be used.
