What Is The Prescribed Dosage Of Enteroquinol For Mucus In Stool?

I am 68 years old and taking calcium, vit B complex and vitamin D supplements along with BP medication. I have developed mucus in my stool and taking some otc medications though not regularly gives temporary relief but it keeps recurring. Should i take a course of enteroquinol with how much dosage and period. Thanks for advising.

Thanks for your query.
Noted the history about 68 years old taking calcium, Vit B Complex, Vitamin D along with BP medications. Developed mucus in stool, took some OTC medication and not getting OK, wants to know whether to take a course of Entroquinol.
Mucus in stool at your age of 68 is a thing to be taken seriously and needs investigations if medical management fails.
I would advise you the following:
Send the stool for tests on three consecutive days.
Get a course of Metronidazole or the like for 5 days.
If there is no complete cure get colonoscopy done to know whether there are ulcers, mass, cancer, biopsy so that a proper diagnosis can be done and treated as per the findings.
You may then need a CT scan and other investigations too.
