Hi, My husband seems like an alcohol addict. he never accepts that he drinks alcohol, so i couldn t get him for counselling / consultation. Is there any other medicine of the shelf which i can provide him (without his knowledge) for his alcohol withdrawal?
Hi, I can understand that after a point one would want to try anything. However, for treating a person with alcohol dependence, its very important to build up his motivation. There are many medications available to reduce craving, but that won't work without the patient being motivated enough. One of the medications which many people give surreptitiously without the knowledge of the patient can cause severe adverse reactions which may even be life threatening. So, I would advise you to be more patient and try motivating him first. Best wishes.
