What Is The Medication For Indigestion And Sharp Pain In Abdomen?

I have been having indigestion since 2am it is now 4pm and am still in pain. I have been having sharp pain in my upper right side of my abdomen wondering if it will stop soon or should i go to the er? I have taken tums and other medicine which does not seem to help. thanks

Thank you for the query.

Indigestion can have many reasons. Your symptoms seems to be caused by gallstones. Upper right abdominal pain is quite characteristic for this issue. Other typical symptoms are pain radiating to the back, nausea and vomiting, loose stool.
If the pain is strong or there is white stool and dark urine, please visit ER.
Otherwise, you should visit your regular doctor and have abdominal ultrasound.
