hi, can someone help me understand what the following means please?
pap smear is adequate for evaluation with mixed pattern of superficial and intermidiate squamous cells, endocervical/transformation zone component present.
rare atypical squamous cells of undetermined significance (ascus, bethesda system)
fungal organisms morphologically consistent with candida species.

Hi . I have read your test your test report. It shows that you don't have any evidence of cancer on your pap smear and the sample was adequate. However you have some cells which are abnormal which would need further evaluation plus you have fungal infection on your vagina.
The abnormal cells on your test are most likely due to the fungal infection but I would suggest you revisit your Gynaecologist and she would advise you a repeat PAP smear after 6 months.
