What Is The Life Expectancy Of A Person With Low WBC Count?

My mother has a wbc of 44, and was diagnosed with septis. They don t know where the bacteria is coming from that has gotten into the blood stream. Her mental capacity has deteriorated sharply within the past 24 hours. Her ammonia levels are normal. She is on 3 different kinds of antibiotics. What are her survival odds?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Thanks for your question on HCM

I do understand your concern

“As” per your clinical history is concerned she has high WBC count, and she is under treatment so do a blood culture and take exact antibiotics in IV only in ICU only. So treatment depends upon cause only, so we can not draw a conclusion life expectancy by high WBC alone because patient can be cured if treatment will be given exact pathology.

Hope that helps
